We are Studio Portobello, a small Dublin-based interior design practice specialising in characterful home renovations. When working with a period home, conservation and contemporary lifestyles need to be carefully balanced. We create comfortable homes with a layered presence of considered materials, unique pieces and artful details, while ensuring the original architecture and character of the building is maintained. Our clients value craft and longevity, and seek a trusted creative partner to guide them from concept through to completion.
Co-Founder & Creative Director
Hanna is our creative director, and the guiding hand behind our visual language and planning principles. Equal parts intuitive and analytical, she leads the studio’s design work with an eye for poetry and a respect for function.
Born to Finnish and Portuguese parents and shaped by life in Belgium, the UK and Ireland, Hanna’s design language blends Northern restraint with Southern warmth: elegant, grounded, and unafraid of unexpected details. Her spaces are quietly expressive, where colour, texture, and light are used to narrate different moods throughout the day.
Hanna’s planning is meticulous, ensuring practicality and aesthetics never clash. Whether designing a tranquil nook or a full home, she creates spaces that feel storied, effortless, and joyfully alive.
